Gig Harbor Karate Academy
Conclusion
Martial arts training is an amazing journey that can yield incredible results for your child:
- Confidence
- Discipline
- Respect
- Fitness
- Focus
- Awareness
- Responsibility
TO ACHIEVE THE BENEFITS OF TRAINING, YOUR CHILD MUST ATTEND CLASSES AS REGULARLY AND AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE.
- Attendance is the key to unlocking all the benefits of the program.
- The entire program is based on the expectation that all students will attend regularly.
- Please do not underestimate the importance of regular attendance.
IF YOU WANT RESULTS, YOU HAVE TO MAKE A COMMITMENT.
If you want your child to be fit, and to become more respectful and disciplined, you have to commit to long term martial arts training. The best results take time to achieve, and you have to hold your child to his/her commitment.
MARTIAL ARTS TRAINING IS NOT A SEASONAL ACTIVITY.
If you want your child to remain motivated and to progress in karate, they must be present in classes all year. We do not recommend taking the summer off. There is no way to achieve the benefits of training with a hit-and-miss yearly schedule.
OTHER ACTIVITIES MAY GET IN THE WAY OF YOUR CHILD’S KARATE PROGRESS.
If your child wants to excel at karate, he/she needs time and energy to practice and attend classes. If your child is also involved in soccer, baseball, basketball, track, swimming, piano and gymnastics, how can they successfully develop their karate skills and earn their next belt or get their homework and chores done? We recommend that you evaluate your child’s weekly activity schedule to make sure that they have time to attend classes, practice at home, get their homework and chores done and to rest and play as well. Young people do not show signs of fatigue in the same way adults do, but their performance does decrease as they become stressed or overwhelmed. It is unfair to expect your child to excel at karate, 2 other sports and a musical instrument all at the same time. As your child’s interest in karate grows, we recommend that you scale back on other activities and allow him or her to focus and be successful.
