Fitness Testing Rules & Guidelines
- All exercises will be timed or counted by a GHKA black belt.
- There are no second chances on an individual fitness test. In other words, no “red-do’s.”
- Students can only attempt each fitness challenge one time on each testing day, but they may attempt to pass the challenge as many times as they like. For example, Susie did not complete a 1 minute set of jumping jacks during a Friday stripe test class so she can try again the next Friday, and the next, etc..
- Black belt judges will count every correct repetition out loud. Incorrect repetitions will not be counted.
- Students may not speak or ask questions during the fitness test.
- On all timed exercises, the black belt judge will give a verbal cue at the “half-way” point.
- On all timed exercises, a stoppage of more than 1 second will be considered the end of the test. In this kind of test, all repetitions must be completed consecutively. For example, in a 1 minute set of timed jumping jacks, a pause of longer than 1 second ends the test.
