What is S.A.M.S Kids?
S.A.M.S Kids is an acronym that stands for Safety And Movement Skills. S.A.M.S kids is a pre-martial arts program for children ages 4 to 6 years.
The focus of S.A.M.S is on stranger safety rules, gross motor development/coordination, and elementary martial arts movements and postures.
Any child age 4 to 6 years can gain awareness, coordination and muscular development regardless of their interest in martial arts.
What Will My Child Learn in S.A.M.S?
SAMS classes focus on the building blocks for success in Youth Karate:
- Discipline: listening skills, waiting your turn, self control
- Respect: following rules, care for others safety
- Hand and Foot Skills: basic stances, hand positions, blocks, strikes, safe falling, and kicks
- The SAMS motto is "Always be Safe" - our skills are for the dojo only, not for school or home.
- Karate is fun! If we have discipline and respect then learning skills is fun and safe!
